Singapore At Last

After 24 hours of plane flights, I am finally in Singapore.  If you are reading this on Monday, Happy Tuesday from over here.  It is a full 14 hour time difference, so chances are I will be a day ahead of you.  The latitude is 104, practically on  the opposite side of the planet from Denver.  The longitude is only 1 degree north of the equator so that makes it scorching here.  It is also tropical and humid, perfect for growing lush plants, which is why there are so many that grow so large.
We spent most of our day on Sentosa, a small island off the coast of Singapore.  First off we took an exciting Segway tour.  It was amazingly easy to balance, break, and turn.

Then I visited the southernmost point of continental Asia.

Singapore's location, which is a sort of gateway into Asia from many other places, makes it one of the busiest ports in the world.

New foods tried today:  Dragon Fruit (tasteless), Papaya (an orangeish fruit), unknown object

  2. Hi Aidan! We were wondering what is the "unknown object" you experience eating? What did it taste like? Is the Segway fun to ride? How long did it take to get to Singapore and how many flights did it take to get there? We miss you and wish we could be there too! We'll read more tomorrow! Happy Monday from 4G!

    1. The unknown object was served for breakfast but since they also serve curry for breakfast that doesn't really mean much. It was slightly like a dumpling except it appeared to be made of bread and was crunchy. It tasted meaty on the inside. It was not a strong or spicey flavor nor was it plain.
Yes, the Segways are very fun to ride. The maneuverability was remarkable.
It took us about 24 hours total to get here with the flights and layovers. It took us three flights: Denver to Seattle, Seattle to Tokyo, then Tokyo to Singapore.

    1. Hi Keely! They serve meals on the plane, some are good and some are not. We even got one meal that looked like meatballs with chocolate on top. Luckily, we take our own snacks in case the food isn't any good.

  5. Was the water in the waterslide hot, cold, salty, etc? What did the picture of the "no hands" really mean? How did the lifeguard fish you out? What activities will you be doing in Hong Kong? How many different places are you visiting? Today was our Opera Colorado field trip. One of the favorite stops was Stage Combat! Julian got punched in the face! And the guy spit out a tooth! Tomorrow is our English test - we'll miss you! HA HA Your test will be waiting for you when you get back. HA HA Talk to you tomorrow, your friends in 4G

  6. The water was cold, but not freezing. It was freshwater, so no salt. The "no hands" sign really meant, "keep your hands off of the doors." To fish me out, the life guard simply reached into the water and pulled me out of the pool. I'm looking forward to my English test!
