Hello from Hong Kong!

A new age of Wandering Aidan is upon us- welcome to Hong Kong!

Or, I should say "Welcome to Repulse Bay." As we learned from our exploits yesterday, there are two Hong Kongs- the beachside and the city. The beachside is a calm place with an average amount of people and a great view. The city is constantly shouting at us from all sides, and waves of people lap up against its industrialized shore. As demonstrated by this cemetery, even death cannot free one from the city's cluster. Luckily, we live by the beach.

Our apartment building.

We haven't done much yet besides temporarily lose our life forces to the heat and humidity (this place could be worse than even Singapore). We have found a handy market located just outside the apartment building, which we have visited several times. The biggest activity we engaged in was wading into the city to grab some furniture, phones, and a thingy to charge the phones. Overall, our days so far have been about sustenance.

That's about all for today's blog. I will try (key word: try) to blog about three times a week. If you want more that just Hong Kong, check back in two months for more temporary vacations to South Africa, Germany, the Czech Republic, and our old favorite England. Aidan out.

Bonus: Hong Kong Facts, Issue One

A funny thing about Hong Kong: it is incredibly hilly. The view out of our front window is spectacular, but if you were to look out the back, you would see a near-vertical wall of trees and dirt. That is one thing that doesn't change in the city (unfortunately). The city streets plaster to the hills, meaning that a walk through the city can be more of a hike.
