Aquarium and other adventures

I didn't get around to posting yesterday, but I'll tell you everything now. Yesterday was very eventful- this might be a long post.

The highlight of the day was the aquarium. Something that differentiated this from other aquariums almost immediately when you walked in was this strange creature on display:

a platypus.

Other oddities included: a weedy sea dragon (native to Australia and related to the seahorse), a "common" Australian octopus, a creature that looked like a cross between a shark and a ray (Dad asked about that- it's called a shark ray) and 2 of only 6 captive dugongs in the world, Pig and Wuru. Pig's favorite toy is a purple bucket. He likes to put it on his head and swim into walls. He will occasionally hold the bucket between his flippers and roll around with it. Yes, I'm serious.

There was also a playground where you could climb on a huge rope structure and pump water, but not at the same time.

We also went to see the famous Sydney Opera House. Upon close inspection, we discovered that it is actually several separate buildings, and they are tiled and not solid white. The whole thing was breathtaking.
